AJ Styles has had quite the first year with World Wrestling Entertainment. Just eight months after making his debut, Styles became WWE World Champion at Backlash, and he has held on to the title ever since.

This Sunday at Royal Rumble, Styles faces John Cena in a title match, with the winner going on to defend the championship at Elimination Chamber in February. Many fans believe that Cena will be the one to end AJ Styles’ title reign, but if he doesn’t, and if someone from the SmackDown Live roster wins the Royal Rumble match, AJ Styles will find himself in the main event of WrestleMania in his second year on the WWE roster.

AJ Styles, whose real name is Allen Neal Jones, is 39 years old, and he lives in Gainesville, Georgia with his wife and four children. Here’s everything you need to know about his wife, Wendy Jones.


1. They Met in High School

AJ Styles and Wendy Jones met while attending the same high school, according to Styles’ Twitter account.

They both graduated from Johnson High School in Gainesville, Georgia in 1996.

After high school, Styles briefly attended college in South Carolina but dropped out in order to pursue a wrestling career.


2. They Started Dating on Valentine’s Day

AJ and Wendy started dating on February 14th, 1996. This was during their senior year of high school.

The two were married four years later on August 5th, 2000.


3. She is a School Teacher

AJ Styles’ wife, Wendy Jones, works as a school teacher, according to Slam Wrestling.

Jones was still in college when her husband AJ started working for Total Nonstop Action. AJ told Slam Wrestling that the WWE actually offered him a deal right before he started with TNA, but it wasn’t for very much money.

“I was the sole provider,” Styles said. “My wife was in college. It’s God first and family second. And I wasn’t going to have my wife move back in with her family.”


4. They Have Three Sons

AJ Styles and Wendy Jones have three sons. The first, Ajay Covell Jones, was born on May 3, 2005.

Ajay and his father share a love of sports, and he has played football and basketball while in school.

AJ and Wendy’s second son, Avery Jones, was born on on February 14th, 2007, which also happened to be the 11 year anniversary of the couple’s first date.

5. They Have One Daughter
