With the Premier League on pause this weekend, it’s as good a time as any to check the standings.
Chelsea continue to shine at the top, and it looks like their lead will increase before it diminishes. The Blues have dropped only three points since October, and currently hold an eight-point lead over Arsenal at the top.
Chelsea’s next match is against Liverpool, who have been the most surprising team of 2017. After starting the New Year second in the table, Liverpool have won just one match in 2017 across all competitions. They’ve struggled on multiple occasions, including a League Cup semifinal loss to Southampton.
At the bottom, Leicester City continue to drift towards the relegation race. The defending league champions have taken one point from three matches in 2017, and are now just five points above the bottom three.
