Click here for a rundown of NFL football games for Sunday, January 22.
For the first time since the summer, fans will be without both NFL and college football on Saturday. The good news is there is one football game on today for fans looking to get their fix. The East-West Shrine Game kicks off at 3 p.m. Eastern on NFL Network.
The NFL will play both the NFC and AFC Championship games on Sunday, January 22 to determine who will play in Super Bowl LI. The Green Bay Packers take on the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship at 3:05 p.m. Eastern on FOX. It will be followed by the AFC Championship featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots at 6:40 p.m. Eastern on CBS.
The Shrine Game is one of the first events to kick off the NFL Draft season. The game features college players looking to be selected by NFL teams in April’s draft. While it does not feature top prospects like next week’s Senior Bowl, there are still a number of notable players to keep an eye on.
Florida Atlantic’s defensive end Trey Hendrickson has generated a lot of buzz this week and will take the field for the East. Central Michigan quarterback Cooper Rush, Michigan running back De’Veon Smith and Ole Miss wide receiver Quincy Adeboyejo are all notable players on the East roster.
For the West, Western Michigan quarterback Zach Terrell, Washington State wide receiver Gabe Marks and Arkansas defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. are some of the top prospects who will be playing in today’s game.
It is one of just a few more games that will be played in the coming weeks before a long off-season without football. The Senior Bowl will take place on Saturday, January 28 at 2:30 p.m. Eastern on NFL Network. The Pro Bowl will be played the following day on Sunday, January 29 on ESPN.
Finally, the Super Bowl will conclude the season on Sunday, February 5 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on FOX. The 2017 NFL Draft will take place April 27-29.
