You play well, you get paid well.
That’s certainly the case for both Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers.
Ryan, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback, and Rodgers, the signal caller for the Green Bay Packers, are the leaders of the last two teams standing in the NFC for the 2016-17 season.
And their bank accounts reflect how important they are to their respective squads.
The quarterbacks are two of the highest paid players in the NFL, each making an average salary of over $20 million in 2016. To be exact, Rodgers had an average salary of $22 million, which ranks fifth, and Ryan $20.75 million (11th).
The Falcons and Packers meet on Sunday, January 22, with a trip to Super Bowl LI up for grabs. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:05 p.m. Eastern and the game will be televised on FOX.
Both QBs signed extensions in 2013; Rodgers in April, Ryan three months later in July.
