Nike used All-Star Weekend to drop several new versions of Jordans. These Air Jordan 1 Retro “OG” All-Star editions have won the weekend:
According to GQ, the shoes are a nod to the shoes Jordan wore in the 1982 NCAA title game which happened to be in New Orleans just like the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. The new colorway is black and white but has a multi-colored look when the light hits it similar to Mardi Gras beads. This is causing some fans to call them the “Chamelons”. Nike released them the morning of February 19 for $175.
These Air Jordan 1’s may have stolen the show, but there are plenty of other new releases. Jordan had a pop-up shop in the French Quarter of New Orleans during All-Star Weekend where sneakerheads lined the streets for a chance to purchase one of the new releases.
These Jordan 6’s were released on February 17 and retail for $225. The shoes are all black but feature a colorful tint like the 1’s:
Russell Westbrook will be wearing the Air Jordan 31’s. Like the other releases, the shoes have a chrome tint. It’s a unique look with both the Jordan and Nike logo present on the shoe. The shoes retail for $185.
The Air Jordan 12 OVO (October’s Very Own) black edition with hints of gold debuted on February 18 for $225.
Finally, the Jordan 13 Retro OG debuted February 19 for $190.
All of the new releases have a “NOLA shine” to them giving each one a unique look. These special gold 31’s were only available at the New Orleans pop-up shop:
