With six matches remaining in CONMEBOL qualifying, both Brazil and Uruguay look like they’re both headed to Russia next year.
The two teams sit atop South American qualifying through 12 matches, and both teams are near the benchmark points needed to secure World Cup qualification. The last time all 10 nations participated in qualifying, 28 points were enough to secure a spot in the World Cup. Brazil have 27 and Uruguay have 23, but the teams will still work hard for a result Thursday night.
Barcelona stars usually highlight rosters on both sides, but Luis Suarez will be absent for Uruguay. Neymar is the leader up front for Brazil, and he’ll be joined by Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino. Firmino is filling in for Gabriel Jesus, who broke his foot playing with Manchester City earlier this year.
Brazil have won seven straight under new manager Tite, but Uruguay have won six straight qualifiers at home.
