With five weeks remaining in the Premier League season, Chelsea are inching closer to their fifth title in the Premier League era.
The Blues currently hold a four-point lead over Spurs after Sunday’s game against Manchester United, and that may be enough to hold the top spot for the final weeks. Chelsea may have six games remaining, but none of those fixtures are against the big clubs in England. A trip to Everton next week represents the toughest remaining challenge, but still on the schedule are two matches against sides headed for relegation (Middlesbrough/Sunderland).
In the race for Champions League play, Liverpool’s six-point hold on the fourth spot is bolstered by Klopp’s six-game unbeaten run. Liverpool are also done battling England’s elite this season, and should clinch a spot in UEFA play sometime in Mid-May before wrapping up the season at home against Middlesbrough.
With 30 points through 33 matches, Hull City are the only team above the drop still flirting with relegation. Swansea are up for relegation with 28 points, and the bottom three teams have combined for zero wins in their last five matches.
