Chelsea are a few short wins away from the Premier League title after a 3-0 win over Everton on Sunday.

Pedro, Cahill, and Willian all scored in the second half to lift Chelsea’s lead to seven points in the table before Spurs and Arsenal kick off. If that margin holds, Chelsea have a small chance to clinch the title next week against Middlesbrough. It isn’t likely, considering Spurs have won eight straight fixtures, but it’s on the table.

Below the top, the Manchester teams continue to battle over the crucial fourth spot in the standings. United have a massive contest next week against Arsenal, and also a Europa League semifinal against Celta Vigo.

At the bottom, Sunderland have been relegated after ten Premier League seasons. In a statement published on their website, Chairman Ellis Hunt stated, “Like any supporter, my initial reaction is one of sadness, disappointment, anger and frustration. After 10 consecutive seasons as a top-flight club, the second longest in our 138-year history, it is hard for everyone to take.”

Middlesbrough are also likely headed for the Championship, but Swansea may be able to escape the drop. With three games remaining, they are just two points behind Hull City at the final relegation spot in the table.
