Former WWE star Rosey has died.

Matthew Anoaʻi died this week at the age of 47, as was confirmed on Tuesday morning by WWE.com. No cause of death has been officially released, with the Anoaʻi family simply saying in a statement that they are mourning Matt “due to an untimely death.” However, this may have been related to the various heart issues that Anoaʻi had been suffering from over the past few years.

In 2014, Anoaʻi was hospitalized with an enlarged heart functioning at 25 percent, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestleView). Anoaʻi had 62 pounds of fluids drained from his body, and he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation.

In 2007, Anoa’i participated in the reality series Fat March, a series on which overweight people walk 550 miles in an attempt to lose weight and win a prize of $1.2 million. He said at the time that he wanted to lose weight so that he could return to wrestling. However, Anoa’i had to quit the show after five episodes due to a knee injury.

Matt Anoaʻi was known for performing in the WWE as Rosey, and he was one half of the tag team 3-Minute Warning. He was released from his WWE contract in 2006, and he then spent a few years wrestling on the independent circuit before starting his own promotion, Epic Championship Wrestling.

Matt Anoaʻi was the brother of Roman Reigns and a member of the Anoaʻi family, a family of professional wrestlers which also consists of Jimmy Uso, Jey Uso, Naomi, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. None of these superstars have yet reacted to the death of Matt Anoaʻi.

Stay tuned for more information about Matt Anoaʻi’s death.
