Outlook: One NBA team is going to get a player with a lot of potential and a big man with rare shooting ability. While Markkanen needs to improve his defending and rebounding abilities, his skills on the offensive side make him worthy of a top-10 pick. In addition to his knock-down shooting, Markkanen also has the ability to handle the basketball that comes from growing up playing guard for many years. The future was already bright for the Timberwolves even before they appeared poised to land a top 10 pick in the upcoming draft. When you look at the Timberwolves roster, there is not one area of need that jumps off the page other than the need to get older. Minnesota is likely to go best player available but could be intrigued to add another big man to throw into the rotation with Karl-Anthony Towns.
