No. 28 CB Gareon Conley, Ohio State
Round: 1st
Players on the Board: TE David Njoku, CB Quincy Wilson, EDGE Charles Harris, EDGE Takkarist McKinley
Why It Works: Many mock drafts have Dallas selecting a pass rusher here which is certainly withing the realm of possibilities. Given the strength of this secondary class, my preference would be to select the best available corner at this spot unless there is a player at another position that has fallen that is clearly above the remaining cornerbacks. Ohio State is doing their part to help NFL secondaries with at least three first round corners/safeties coming out of Columbus. Conley is a player rising up draft boards and could end up in the top-15 selections. Conley is a big, physical corner that ran a 4.4 40-time. Which corners the Cowboys prefer is hard to predict, but do not be surprised if they bolster their secondary with this pick instead of their pass rush. (Getty)
