Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich: Time, Channel & Lineup

(Getty)

Two of the world’s biggest clubs collide on Wednesday in the biggest of four Champions League quarterfinals.

Bayern and Madrid may be the most common pairing in European football history, but both teams must deal with injuries heading into the first leg.

Bayern Munich could be without top players at both ends of the pitch. Mats Hummels is definitely out after injuring ankle ligaments last week, while Robert Lewandowski remains a game-time decision. The German striker only trained for about 20 minutes this week due to a shoulder injury, and manager Carlo Ancelotti told reporters that “If he is in pain, he won’t play.”

Madrid will be missing a pair of defenders at the back, something that could play a huge role in the Spanish title race. Pepe suffered fractured ribs during the weekend loss to Atletico Madrid, and Raphael Varane will miss a month of action with a hamstring injury. That leaves the heavy lifting on defense to Sergio Ramos, who will play in his 99th Champions League game on Wednesday.
