AJ Styles is staying on SmackDown Live.

Styles had been expected to be moved to Monday Night Raw in the superstar shake up, but that did not end up being the case. On April 10th’s episode of Raw, all of the new Raw superstars were announced, and AJ Styles was not one of them.

This came as great news to many AJ Styles fans, who had grown fond of the idea of Styles being the top face on SmackDown Live and getting to work with Shinsuke Nakamura. These fans were quite upset by all of the rumors surrounding Styles’ departure, and so all throughout Raw, they hoped that Styles would not enter. Luckily, their wishes were granted.

Within the WWE storyline, this is exactly what AJ Styles wanted. Last week on SmackDown Live, Styles told Shane McMahon that he did not want to leave the blue brand. Shane and AJ seemed to come to some sort of agreement there, although viewers are meant to believe that Daniel Bryan, not Shane McMahon, was the one making the decisions on trades.

This move comes as AJ Styles has turned face, having an adorable moment on SmackDown Live last week in which he and Shane McMahon smiled at one another and shook hands following their WrestleMania match.

A number of AJ Styles’ coworkers on SmackDown Live did move to Raw tonight, though, including Dean Ambrose, The Miz, Heath Slater, Rhyno, Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.

Stay tuned for more information about AJ Styles’ future on SmackDown Live.
