Preview
Chelsea are one win away from the Premier League title when they travel to The Hawthorns on Friday.
Chelsea held off the Baggies 1-0 when they first met in December, and now have a chance to sweep for the first time since 2011. Chelsea also have a chance at a domestic double when they play Arsenal in the FA Cup final later this month.
It’s been a rough finish for West Brom, who have stumbled through the final stretch of the season. The Baggies have just two points in their last six league fixtures, and can only finish as high as eighth in the table. It’s still tied for the best Premier League finish in team history, but there are seven other teams within five points in the table. If WBA can’t close strong, they could plummet down to 15th.
West Brom’s recent struggles could be linked to a massive scoring drought. Before their recent 2-2 draw with Burnley, West Brom had six straight matches without scoring a goal.
N’Golo Kante is back for Chelsea, after missing Monday’s win over Middlesbrough with a thigh strain. Jonny Evans and Hal Robson-Kanu should both return from knocks and see action for West Brom.
Kickoff is at 3:00 p.m. Eastern and will air on NBC Sports Network. Keep this page refreshed after kickoff for the latest updates.
