Kurt Angle Breaks Kayfabe to Comment on Jason Jordan Storyline on Facebook

WWE.com Kurt Angle reveals that Jason Jordan is his son.

It’s been two weeks now since Kurt Angle revealed that Jason Jordan is his son on Monday Night Raw. That’s not true in real life, of course, so how does Angle feel about playing Jordan’s dad on TV?

Well, Angle frequently takes questions from fans on his Facebook page, and on July 21st, he provided a behind-the-scenes insight into this fictional storyline. A fan asked Angle how he gets in the mindset of pretending to be Jason Jordan’s father.

Angle responded, “I thought to myself what it would be like to see my son Kody for the first time ever, and didn’t know it for 20 years. I thought if it were real, how would I feel?”

This is the only time that Kurt Angle has really broken kayfabe about this Jason Jordan twist since it happened. On his Twitter page recently, Angle retweeted a photo of Jordan and called him “my son Jason.”

Angle did, however, previously post about his “five beautiful children,”so he’s not entirely committed to keeping up the fictional storyline off camera.

Kurt Angle recently give an interview to the WWE Network after the Jason Jordan reveal, but this was conducted entirely in character, with Angle still pretending in the interview that Jordan is his son in real life.

It’s unclear at what point Kurt Angle found out that the end point of his ongoing Raw storyline was going to be that Jason Jordan is his son. However, Jordan himself reportedly didn’t find out until a week before it happened, so it’s certainly possible that Angle didn’t know until recently as well. It’s not even clear whether the WWE writers knew from the beginning what the twist would be; a lot of the setup in the Angle storyline didn’t quite fit with what the twist ended up being.

A lot of WWE fans have praised Kurt Angle’s performance during the Jason Jordan reveal. When Jordan walked out, Angle truly looked like he was holding back tears. Now, Angle has said that he was able to get himself to this place by thinking of his actual son, Kody. In real life, Kurt Angle has five children, one boy and four girls.

It’s unclear what exactly the future of the Jason Jordan storyline is, although Pro Wrestling Sheet has reported that it will be central to Raw for months. Sportskeeda is also reporting that Jason Jordan will have a match against The Miz at SummerSlam, though their reports are not always accurate, so this should be taken with a grain of salt. Tonight, though, Jason Jordan will speak with The Miz on an episode of Miz TV.
