With a healthy Jimmy Garoppolo manning the quarterback position and a stout defensive front, the San Francisco 49ers have high hopes that they can return to the postseason in 2019 the first time in six years.
49ers games this year will be on either Fox (12 games–televised in select markets), CBS (1 game–televised in select markets) or ESPN (2 game–nationally televised), while one of the Fox games (Oct. 31 vs Arizona) will also be on Amazon Prime.
If you don’t have cable, you can watch 49ers games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:
In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: Hulu With Live TV

If you can’t watch a game live, Hulu With Live TV comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as the option to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of space and the ability to fast-forward through commercials.
In-Market & Nationally Televised Games: FuboTV

ESPN isn’t included, but there’s just two 49ers games on ESPN during the season, and otherwise FuboTV is a fantastic option. It comes with 100-plus channels in the main bundle, it includes NFL Network and NFL RedZone (Sports Plus add-on), it has some Fox games in 4K and it’s largely tailored towards sports.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes included with 30 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as a 72-hour look-back feature, which will allow you to watch games on-demand within three days of their conclusion, even if you don’t record them.

This option is $46 per month all together, but it quickly gets more expensive if you want what some of the above streaming services offer, such as DVR ($5 per month) or NFL RedZone ($10 per month). Plus, CBS isn’t included, so there’s the extra hassle of needing to use a second streaming service for those games. But if you just want the Fox games (12 49ers games will be on Fox), “Sling Blue” is a good, cheap option for that.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of the CBS games on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone (Android and iPhone compatible), tablet, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 or other streaming device via the Amazon Video app.
This is ultimately the same as the Amazon Prime option, only you’re watching through CBS’ digital platform rather than Amazon’s.

Out-of-Market Games
SundayTicket.TV allows you to watch a live stream of games that are out of your market and aren’t nationally televised. The service isn’t widely available, though, as it’s available for people who live in residences that can’t get satellite (apartments, condos, etc.), as well as residents of San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York City. Additionally, most college students can get this service via SundayTicket U.
Once signed up, you can watch games on your computer via the NFL Sunday Ticket website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or other streaming device via the NFL Sunday Ticket app, which is free to download on many different devices.

Streaming of in-market and prime-time games can be watched on your phone via the NFL Mobile app.
If You’re in Canada: DAZN
Viewers in Canada can watch every regular season and postseason NFL game live online via DAZN, a digital streaming service that also includes NFL Network, NFL RedZone, Premier League soccer, Champions League soccer, boxing and other live sports for $20 per month or $150 per year.

49ers 2019 Season Preview
After three consecutive postseason appearances from 2011-13 — including a loss to the Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII — there have been some lean years around San Francisco. The team’s 8-8 finish in 2014 has served as the high-water mark since.
The 49ers are entering their third year under head coach Kyle Shanahan, who hopes that his offense can find some rhythm if Jimmy Garoppolo can last an entire season under center — something he has been unable to do so far in his NFL career.
Garoppolo carries an 8-2 record as a starter, but has been limited due to injuries, the latest — and most serious — an ACL tear in the team’s third game last season.
There’s little doubt that there is massive pressure on Shanahan to produce wins season, seeing as the 49ers have won 10 games total in his first two seasons and have the second-most losses in the NFL since Jim Harbaugh was let go in 2014.
There’s also pressure on Garoppolo to put up numbers, as he signed a five-year, $137.5 million extension in last offseason.
On the defensive side of the ball, the 49ers’ key additions include edge rusher Dee Ford — who signed a five-year, $85.5 million deal in the offseason — and No. 2 overall pick Nick Bosa, a fellow pass-rusher. They join a defensive line that includes former first-round picks DeForest Buckner and Arik Armstead.
Other stars to watch will be tight end George Kittle, who broke out last year with a 1,377-yard season, and corner Richard Sherman.
Six-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Joe Staley is the only remaining 49er that was around for the team’s last playoff berth and understands that it takes time for a new regime to find its footing.
“You get a new general manager, new head coach in here, it’s going to take a year or two to get people that they want, the system that they want, everybody dialed in,” Staley said. “Last year was the year we really felt like going into the year we had the pieces in the right spots. I think we added a ton more this offseason. It’s time to win.”
There is optimism around the team following a four-win season a year ago. Odds Shark has the 49ers win total listed at 8.5, matching their division rival Seahawks for second most in the NFC West. The Rams — fresh off a Super Bowl appearance against the New England Patriots — are just one of five teams listed with a double-digit win total.
