Fantasy Football Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em: Week 15 Predictions

Start: QB Philip Rivers at Chiefs

Sit: QB Jameis Winston at Ravens

Philip Rivers and Drew Brees must be living right because both veteran quarterbacks have played as good as they ever have this season. Rivers is coming off a bit of a down week throwing for just 220 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals. Expect Rivers to bounce back this week against the Chiefs in a Thursday Night Football showdown.

The last time Rivers played the Chiefs he threw for 424 yards and three touchdowns. Fantasy owners are hoping for more of the same in Week 15. The Chiefs defense allows the most passing yards of any team in the NFL. Some of this is tied to how fast their offense scores, but it helps the opposing team put up fantasy points either way.

When the Chargers moved to Los Angeles, Rivers opted to remain in San Diego. It looks like those long commutes where he watches game film are paying off for the Chargers quarterback.

“My two biggest things were my family time and my preparation and what I owe this football team,” Rivers explained to the San Diego Tribune. “I was not going to sacrifice either of them in any big proportion. I can look at all the pluses and minuses and say, ‘OK. This does it.’ This allows me to get home in the 6 to 7 hour, which is when I got home the last 11 years, and it allows me to watch all or more of the film I watched before...I don’t want it to be, ‘He’s stuck in a car all day, maybe that’s why he struggled,’Come on.”

Look for a Thursday night shootout as the Chiefs and Chargers square off making Rivers a great Week 15 start.

Jameis Winston Completed Just 47 Percent of His Passes Against the Saints

Just when we thought Jameis Winston could be trusted with a plus matchup against the Saints secondary, he completed just 47 percent of his passes for 213 yards. Things get even worse for Winston this week as he faces a great Ravens defense.

Baltimore ranks No. 3 in the NFL against the pass allowing just 206.2 yards per game. Winston is not the quarterback to trust in your fantasy playoffs.

Winston was seen getting in a heated argument with teammates on the sideline in Week 14. According to the Tampa Bay Times, Winston's 47.2 completion percentage was his lowest number since his rookie season. Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter believes some of the problems stem from poor pass protection.

"Jameis got hit too many times today,'' Koetter explained to Tampa Bay Times. "You can't have your quarterback getting hit that many times, whether it's scrambling, running, four sacks. We can't get him hit that much.''

Winston took some of the blame after their loss to the Saints.

"We just didn't finish," Winston said per the Bucs website. "I've got to got to get the ball out of my hand and not take unnecessary sacks, but we didn't finish. We started fast because we came out with a chip on our shoulder; we've got to finish with a chip on our shoulder."

Keep Winston on your bench for Week 15 as you try to stay alive in the playoffs.
