DraftKings NFL Showdown Picks & DFS Lineups for Seahawks vs. Cowboys

Captain Choices for Seahawks vs. Cowboys

Selecting captains in DraftKings showdown games can be approached a few different ways. And for the most part, it'll depend on your expectation of how the game will actually play out. One key focus (aside from picking a high-scoring player) is to differentiate yourself from the field if at all possible. Finding the right captain, but also one who may now pull huge ownership could be the key to winning a tournament.

Quite a bit will go into deciding who to pick as your captain, as it impacts the entire rest of the roster build. Sometimes, putting the highest-projected player isn't the best approach to take. That decision will really come down to the actual game itself.

Depending on the number of value plays that are available in a game, there are times you'll be better off paying down at captain and finding a mid-range option. Choosing to go this route would potentially allow you to fit another stud into the flex spots and build a stronger core across the board.

For the most part, I'll lock in on 4-6 main players to target as the captain in DFS lineups, but that number can fluctuate a bit. Regardless of how many total players you opt to go with, you'll then narrow it down to 2-3 who are favorite options and build primarily around them. Selecting a bit of a larger number allows for a certain level of flexibility when building.

A good starting point to decide on top captains can be to evaluate the projected total on a game. If there's a high over/under set, then you may have the chance to be more flexible with the captain spot, unless one specific player finds himself in a great spot with an elite matchup.

As Odds Shark shows, the current total for the Seahawks vs. Cowboys is surprisingly low at just 43.5 right now. It seems the public belief is that the over is the popular bet, though, which would make sense. I'll likely approach this with a few solid plays who have high floors, but a few boom-or-bust plays tacked on in spots, as the game total isn't an earth-shattering number.

Thes are the top captain targets for Saturday's wild-card game between the Seahawks and Cowboys, each of which features the 1.5x price tag on DraftKings.

– Ezekiel Elliott ($18,600)
– Russell Wilson ($14,700)
– Amari Cooper ($15,600)
– Chris Carson ($14,100)
– Michael Gallup ($7,800)
– Blake Jarwin ($7,200)

*Dak Prescott ($15,000), Doug Baldwin ($12,300) and Tyler Lockett ($11,100) are also worth considering.

Favorite expensive/mid-range captains: Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper

Top value-saving captains: Michael Gallup

There's a lot to like about the Cowboys side while playing on their home field in a primetime matchup. Obviously, Ezekiel Elliott makes for the home run, top-tier play on this slate. If the Seahawks manage to slow him down, you'll be with the rest of the many players who roster him here.

Although I likely won't have Elliott in every single lineup, it'll be somewhat close. The spot is too appealing as the Seahawks have allowed 1,382 rushing yards, 908 receiving yards and 15 total touchdowns to opposing running backs.

Let's jump right into the optimal lineup and I'll evaluate the top picks throughout lineup breakdowns.
