LeBron James Posterizes Timberwolves Center With Massive One-Handed Slam [WATCH]

LeBron James is still out here making posters in his 17th season at age 34.

The 15-time NBA All-Star added a vicious slam to his season’s highlight package Sunday night, throwing it down over Minnesota Timberwolves center Gorgui Dieng.

With the Lakers up 42-35 on the Timberwolves early in the second quarter, James had the 6’10 Dieng out on the perimeter, crossed him over and drove into the lane like a bull, capping the play with a massive one-handed dunk.

Credit to the Timberwolves’ big man for following James all the way to the basket, but once LeBron heads downhill into the lane like that, there’s not much you can do to stop him, regardless of your size.

This may be the best view of them all, from courtside:

James put up 16 points on 10 shots in the first half despite battling foul trouble. He picked up four fouls, thus was restricted to only 12 minutes of game action in the half.

Coming into Sunday night’s game against the Timberwolves, James was averaging 25.6 points, 10.7 assists and 7 rebounds per game this season.

James Also Showed Off His Long-Range Shot, Hitting a 30-Footer in the Third

Not only was James powering his way to the basket on Sunday night, but he was also showing off his insane range.

James retrieved a loose ball that was turned over by the Timberwolves in the third quarter which reset the shot clock to a fresh 24, and he pulled up and drilled a three-pointer – from 30-feet.

Have yourself a night, LBJ.

Update: James hit six from long distance during the game.

Lakers Rout Timberwolves, 142-125 in Season-Best Performance

The Lakers flexed their muscle in a big way on Sunday night, putting up a season-high 142 points in a rout of the Timberwolves.

The superstar duo of James and Anthony Davis combined for 82 points, with Davis putting up 50.

Davis became only the fourth Laker to score 50 points in a game since 2000, joining James, Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. James and O’Neal achieved it once each as Lakers since 2000, while Bryant accomplished the feat 25 times.

James, who picked up four fouls in the first half, only played 28 minutes on the night but scored 32 points and added 13 assists and four rebounds.

If James and Davis combine for 80+ points during a game, you are going to have a tough time sticking with the Lakers who have won four in a row and 14 out of their last 15.

The Lakers now sport the NBA-best record at 21-3 and are 10-2 at home. The Milwaukee Bucks are the top team in the Eastern Conference with a 20-3 mark, which includes an ongoing 14-game win streak.

James Reacts to 49ers-Saints Thriller Earlier in the Day

Before suiting up to play the Timberwolves on Sunday night, James had his eyes on the marquee matchup in the NFL between the San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.

The 49ers won an epic back-and-forth affair with a last-second field goal, beating the Saints 48-46.

James would go on to call the game that featured two of the NFL’s top teams combining for a total of 94 points, the “best game of the year thus far.”
