The Chicago Bulls will be wearing their third different uniform of the season in 4 games on Tuesday night when they play the Washington Wizards in D.C.
After coming up just short to the Golden State Warriors in the super-slick City jerseys (thanks to an error with the officiating) on Sunday night, the Bulls are going to their pinstripe road jerseys with Chicago emblazoned on the front. We’ve seen these jerseys before, but the difference is the rather iconic Jordan brand symbol on the upper-right shoulder.
Take a look:
Maybe this will help the team get over the hump.

What Went Well vs. the Warriors
If I had to sum up the improvement we saw from the Bulls’ performance on Sunday night in just one word, it would be effort.
In comparison to the first 2 defeats to the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers, the Bulls’ young core exhibited the kind of energy required to compete on a nightly basis in the NBA. While technique and basketball IQ were still lacking some areas, which helped to lead to the whopping 24 turnovers, the Bulls’ energy nearly led them to a victory.
The best player on the floor for the Bulls on Sunday was Wendell Carter Jr. To put it plainly, he’d been horrible through the first 2 games of the season. On Sunday against the Warriors and their promising rookie James Wiseman, Carter got back to what he does best, which rim run, defend, and rebound.
He did mix in a corner 3 as to not completely abandon what he’d worked on during the offseason, but it didn’t appear as though he was overthinking things as much as he had been in the previous 2 games.
Zach LaVine led the Bulls with 33 points. He did have 7 turnovers and also took some really bad shots in the fourth quarter. However, he clearly proved that he can still get to the basket and create high-percentage opportunities for himself almost at will.
This is why his poor shot selection at times is so maddening. He is still settling for high-difficulty stepbacks at times when the situation doesn’t dictate that sort of shot. The worst thing about it is that he is so talented, he’ll make enough of them to convince himself it’s a good shot to take. It’s a mirage. Those are still bad shots and the misses come at the most inopportune times.
That said, he’s still a freak offensively who can carry a team for stretches with his myriad of ways to put the ball in the hole.
A Look Ahead to the Matchup With the Wizards
Like the Bulls, the Wizards are 0-3. There should be a feeling of desperation on both sides and Washington has 2 legit stars on their team in Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook. To win, the Bulls will have to sustain a high energy level on defense, limit Washington’s second-chance opportunities, and take care of the basketball.
The Bulls’ magic numbers for tonight are as followed. If they can accomplish 2 of these 3 things, they will have a great chance to win their first game of the season.
- Wizards have zero 35-point quarters (all three opponents have had at least one 35-point quarter against the Bulls this season).
- Bulls have fewer than 20 turnovers (Bulls are averaging 19.6 turnovers per game this season).
- Bulls surrender fewer than 40 points in the paint.
