A heavyweight bout between Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson and Matt Mitrione is being targeted for UFC 113 in Montreal. Both fighters have verbally agreed to the bout.
Slice and Mitrione were housemates during the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter. Mitrione made his official UFC debut at The Ultimate Fighter Finale in December with a TKO victory over Marcus “Big Baby” Jones. Jones retired from the sport shortly after the loss.
Slice made his UFC debut on the same card with a decision victory over Houston Alexander in a catchweight bout. The UFC 113 bout against Mitrione will mark the first time that Slice has appeared on a pay per view card during his short mixed martial arts career.
The bout is yet another piece of good matchmaking by Joe Silva. Mitrione is a heavyweight slugger who will be more than happy to stand and trade punches with Slice.
UFC 113 is headlined by a light heavyweight title rematch between Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua.
