The card for the UFC’s initial foray into Australia is now complete with the addition of a bout between Igor Pokrajac (21-6) and Heavy.com blogger James Te Huna (11-4).
The bout, which has been rumored since November, was officially announced by the UFC this morning and will take place on the preliminary card of “UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez”.
Te Huna, a native Australian who signed with the promotion in October, recently began a series of blog entries for Heavy.com detailing the lead-up to his UFC debut. “This is what I’ve been fighting and training my whole career towards and now I’m getting the chance to live out a dream,” said Te Huna in his first entry. “Not only that, I’m also being given the opportunity to fight in front of my biggest crowd I’ve ever fought in front of.”
Pokrajac is a training partner of legendary PRIDE and UFC heavyweight Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic. He debuted for the promotion at UFC 103 in September and lost an overwhelming decision to veteran Vladimir Matyushenko.
UFC 110 takes place at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia on Feb. 21.
