The Browns are still alive in playoff contention for the first time in almost 100 years — it feels like it.
Cleveland interim head coach Gregg Williams loves the way his team is playing, despite having dug themselves a huge hole.
“I think everything when you’re dealing with pride helps in motivation.Remember this when I say this: When you have to work extremely hard on motivation, you don’t have the right people. The right people are supposed to be motivated at this level. That’s how you keep your job. This job is a tough job at this level in the profession. The pride factor of seeing that (playoff) possibility is still there does help.”
Denver scratched its way back to 6-6 and wild card contention, but a series of injuries has since depleted the roster. Key players such as Emmanuel Sanders have had their seasons ended, and possibly careers due to the severity of the injury.
The Browns have dropped 11 straight games against the Broncos dating back to 1990, the last time the franchise made the postseason.
