The live shows for America’s Got Talent 2019 finally start tonight on the NBC network, at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 7 p.m. CT. After the Judges’ Cuts ended last week, it brings us to the season 14 quarterfinals for AGT, with contestants continuing to compete for the big $1 million prize. For those who want to watch the quarterfinals but do not have a cable subscription or login info, there are still viewing options.
If you don’t have cable, you can watch a live stream of NBC on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming subscription services:

This season, AGT brought a couple of new judges, as well as a new host, into the mix. Over this past winter, America’s Got Talent had a “champions” edition and host Tyra Banks, who had been hosting AGT, was not a part of the show. Terry Crews took over hosting duties and now, he is back again as the host. AGT: The Champions was also the last time that AGT fans got to see Heidi Klum and Mel B on the judges’ panel. Meanwhile, Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel have returned to the show as judges. In fact, this season was Mandel’s 10th on the show. Mel B and Klum ended up being replaced by stars Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union. So, there have been a lot of cast changes.
In an interview with USA Today, Simon Cowell said that Mel B and Klum’s busy work schedules were the main issues when it came to their departures. In addition, a lot has been going on in Klum’s love life, as she recently got married.
Getting back to the show … On America’s Got Talent, the judges and host are sometimes asked to participate in stunts or acts. On occasion, these acts are daredevil performances and very dangerous. This season is no different when it comes to risky performances. In fact, Cowell recently revealed that during this season’s auditions, he almost died. Cowell said, “I was one inch away from being killed. I’m not going to go into details of how bad it was, but you’ll see.”
Though some of the cast members may have changed on the show, the format has remained the same. Cowell told USA Today that when it comes to the format of the live shows, they will start with the quarterfinals, then go into semifinals, then the finals and finale. He explained that, “It’s pretty much what we’ve always had. It’s worked. Every year, the golden buzzers are becoming more and more impactful. That idea came from the ‘Got Talent’ (version) in Germany. When we saw it, we decided to put that in all the shows. It’s become like a trademark, like the ‘X’ in The X Factor.” Why mess with a well-oiled machine, right?
