Texas vs Virginia Tech Preview
Seeding and records could easily go out the door in the Texas-Virginia Tech matchup on Friday.
Virginia Tech (23-12) comes into the tournament fresh off routing Duke for the ACC tournament title in stunning fashion on March 13. The Hokies caught fire in the conference tournament and could do more damage at the Big Dance.
Texas (21-11) comes battled-test from a grueling Big 12 Conference with defending national champion Baylor and Kansas, both No. 1 seeds in the NCAA tournament. The Longhorns came into the season with high expectations, but they’ll need to put three straight losses behind them before the tournament. Both Baylor and Kansas beat the Longhorns at the end of the regular season, and TCU kept Texas’ time at the Big 12 tournament brief.
