If you’re after the absolute best of the best, the Goalrilla FT Series is the way to go.
This is an in-ground hoop, meaning instead of a weight, this one is drilled directly into the floor. It will never fall over.
In terms of quality, this basketball hoop features a Clear View tempered glass backboard. Not only does this look killer, it’s what the pros play with. The importance of that being if your child wants to go pro, they can get used to the level of rebound NBA players have to contend with from the backboard. You won’t get that with a sub $100 hoop.
The black anodized frame features powder coating, so it won’t rust. Not only that, it looks sleek and, if you contrast it with the Spalding hoop, looks way more professional. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Spalding hoop, but given the price difference, it’s no surprise the Goalrilla version wins on every front.
If you’re worried about setting this thing up, it’s actually a lot simpler than you’d expect. You don’t need to completely destroy your lawn. Just grab a concrete anchor, dig a small hole, drop it in, then bolt the pole to the anchor. Believe me, it sounds worse than it is.
So. The elephant. Yeah, sure, it’s pricey, and I wouldn’t recommend this for younger kids. But, if you want the best, it ain’t gonna come cheap, and given the quality on display here, the price makes sense in a weird sort of way.
