Tameka Raymond, Usher’s ex-wife, is fighting for the custody of their two children after their 5-year-old son was hospitalized following a pool accident. Tameka claims that Usher does not properly care for their two boys and that he is leaving them to be looked after by people that she does not trust.

1. She’s Filing for Custody of Their Two Children
Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond filed for custody of their two children, 5-year-old Usher Raymond V and 4-year-old Naviyd Ely Raymond, after a pool accident left Usher Raymond V hospitalized, reports TMZ. Tameka allegedly filed the legal documents on Tuesday in Fulton County, Georgia and asked for an emergency hearing on the grounds that Usher is creating a “dangerous environment” for the children.
Usher currently has primary custody of the children.
2. Their Son’s Arm Got Caught in the Drain of a Pool
Usher Raymond V was rushed to the ICU at an Atlanta, Georgia hospital Monday evening after his arm got caught in the drain of a pool at Usher’s home. The 5-year-old was playing in the pool with Usher’s aunt, Rena Oden, when he dove down to the bottom of the pool to retrieve a toy and got him arm stuck in the drain. Once Oden noticed Usher Raymond V underwater, she immediately swam down to rescue the boy, but failed. A maid also tried to rescue him, but also failed. Finally, two men working in the house allegedly rushed into the pool and freed the boy’s arm. Usher Raymond V was given CPR and rushed to the hospital.

3. Tameka Doesn’t Agree With Who Usher Let’s Care for Their Children
Tameka is allegedly claiming that Usher is ‘abdicating’ his parental responsibilities by letting other people care for their children.’ She also said that she isn’t comfortable with the people Usher leaves in charge the two boys.
4. Her Stepson Was Killed in a Water-Realated Accident
Monday’s incident came just over a year after Tameka lost her son, 11-year-old Kile Glover, in another water-related accident. Glover, who Tameka had before she married Usher, was struck in the head during a jet ski collision while riding an inner tube on a lake in Atlanta in July 6, 2012. The boy was taken off life support just over two weeks later by doctors who determined that he would not recover from his injuries.
5. She and Usher Divorced in 2009
Tameka and Usher divorced in November 2009 after claiming they lived separately for over a year. The couple went through a very public child custody dispute, which ended with Usher receiving primary custody of the boys.
