Paul Wahlberg, ‘Wahlburgers’: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

Paul Wahlberg is one of the stars of reality show Wahlburgers, which premieres its second season tonight. Read on for the facts on Paul’s relationship with his famous brothers, his career, and his life outside the show.

1. Paul May Be the Older Brother, But He Gets Picked on the Most

Paul is the fifth of nine children and is older than both Donnie and Mark. Nonetheless, Mark and Donnie love to pick on him. Last season on the show, they had Paul convinced that they were putting together a corny jingle for their family’s restaurant. Paul was against it, but the guys continued to mess with him over and over again. When Paul was talking about his brothers’ antics, he told Boston Magazine:

They like to push my buttons. That’s the fun part. But it’s always been that way with us. They’re the youngest so that stuff used to go right downhill. We try not to take it too seriously with each other, and that’s the best part.

What’s family without a little sibling rivalry, right?

2. Donnie Wahlberg Got Surprised By His Brother on the Rachael Ray Show

That’s right. The hard-working chef is actually a millionaire worth $1.5 million, so his famous brothers aren’t the only wealthy ones in the family, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Over the years, Paul has worked his way up through the culinary industry.

He always loved cooking and began working as a caterer while he was in school. From there, he worked his way up at various restaurants, cooking in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. He served as a chef at such establishments as The Charles Hotel, The Four Seasons, and Bridgeman’s. After nine years as the Executive Chef at Bridgeman’s, he opened his own restaurant, Alma Nove, in Hingham, Massachusetts.

From this point, Wahlburgers was born and opened just across the street. Then came the TV show and the rest is history.

4. Paul’s Dreams Came True on His 50th Birthday

For Paul’s 50th birthday, his brother Donnie made his dreams come true. TV Ruckus gives the run-down:

For Paul’s birthday, Mark and Donnie decided that their workaholic brother needed a day off. Mark could not be there, but Donnie planned out a day that would actually mean something to his brother—and to him–searching for a replica of Paul’s first car–the first car owned by any of the Wahlberg children–and setting up a meeting with Paul’s idol, Chef Jacques Pépin.

At the end of the day, Paul and Donnie returned to the Wahlburger restaurant, greeted with a giant surprise party for Paul. It was a truly special day for Paul.

5. He Used to Have a Crush on Donnie’s Fiancee

Brother Donnie is engaged to the former playmate and gorgeous star Jenny McCarthy. Last season Paul confessed to the cameras that he was nervous around her at first because of having a crush like every other guy in America. When she appeared on Wahlburgers for the first time last season, Jenny cooked with mom Alma in the kitchen and got some dirt on her man while joking with the family. The Wahlbergs embraced her and Paul even named a burger after her at the restaurant. This season, we’ll be seeing more of Jenny and Donnie’s relationship on the show. And, as far as Paul’s love life, we never hear anything, so we’re assuming it’s all about work for the sweet guy.
