Beyonce appears to have successfully made it through her first trimester and has taken to Instagram to announce the major baby news. She and husband Jay-Z are expecting twins together and tonight’s 2017 Grammy Awards will be Beyonce’s first public debut since the big reveal. At the show, Beyonce will make her first appearance with her new baby belly. Not only is Beyonce a nominee at the ceremony, she is also a performance and usually delivers high-powered, exhausting routines. We are guessing that she may slow things down just a bit for her performance.
Doctors have been weighing in with different news outlets to discuss safety issues surrounding Beyonce performing while pregnant. Dr. Jacques Moritz of Weill Cornell Medicine in New York told Billboard that:
She’s lucky because up until this point, it’s really kind of like being pregnant with one child. So there really shouldn’t be any restrictions … until past twenty weeks. I’m sure she’s going to have to slow down because the major risk of twins in general is prematurity.
Beyonce isn’t the first star to perform on stage while pregnant. In fact, singer MIA actually performed at the Grammys on her due date in 2009. And, this wouldn’t be Beyonce’s first time carrying a child in her belly while on stage either. In fact, she first announced her pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Check out the big VMAs reveal in the below video. In addition to performing at the Grammy Awards, Beyonce also has a headlining gig with Coachella set for April 2017. And, according to TMZ, Beyonce has already booked two major artists to appear with her at the festival. The additional guests have not yet been revealed.
Recently, a source told Radar Online that Beyonce and Jay-Z have continued to be fighting during her pregnancy, though the couple shows no visible signs of trouble in their marriage. Over the years, they’ve suffered divorce rumors and relationship scrutiny from the media. The source told Radar that Beyonce has been moody and upsetting during this pregnancy, stating that:
Beyonce has been yelling at almost everyone who works for them because she says that no one is living up to her expectations right now.
Whatever the case, the pair seem to be glowing in happiness and are set to appear at the Grammy Awards together.
