Ed Sheeran quit Twitter in July and, according to Billboard, deleted his account entirely following his appearance on Sunday night’s episode of Game of Thrones.

After his cameo, thousands of GoT fans took to social media to completely bash the Shape of You singer. Many believe that Sheeran deleted his account completely following the harsh tweets that he received as people watched him on the hit HBO series. Not only did he receive negative feedback on Twitter, but his appearance was bashed by several media outlets as well. For example, Forbes called Sheeran’s cameo a “mistake.”

Earlier this month, Sheeran announced that he was quitting Twitter due to constant negativity and hateful comments, which he discussed with The Sun.

According to The Sun, Sheeran was sick and tired of reading the nasty remarks that he had been receiving, so he decided to stop tweeting.

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it. I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that. One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-f*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much,” Sheeran told The Sun earlier this month.

Sheeran does still have an Instagram account, which he posts to regularly. The Sun reported that Sheeran had left his Twitter account open and that he had been allowing Instagram to post there automatically, but that he wasn’t using his Twitter account personally anymore. However, a quick search for @edsheeran will kick back the following message, which shows that Sheeran has deleted his account altogether.

“I have people like my dad who will have a conversation with me. I don’t have to have someone calling me a whatever,” Sheeran told The Sun.
