Gamers trust their expertise in the area of shooters and co-op gameplay, which is why they're looking to refine those gameplay aspects for a new IP - Battleborn. Battleborn is being described as a next-gen release (available for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC) that will mix first-person shooting, co-op combat, competitive multiplayer and MOBA-style skirmishes. The teaser trailer seen above showcased the game's various character types as they fend off a vast amount of enemy bugs and machines. Everything looks well animated and fun thus far, plus we can trust Gearbox to create a bright and bubbly shooter worth playing. Game Informer had a quick spin with the game's Incursion mode, which sounds like an amazing time. Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software, spoke about the Battleborn and its fusion of genres: If Borderlands 2 is a shooter-looter, Battleborn is a hero-shooter. As a genre-fused, hobby-grade, co-operative and competitive FPS exploding with eye-popping style and an imaginative universe, Battleborn is the most ambitious video game that Gearbox has ever created. Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K Games, also spoke about Battleborn and what it represents for the development team and publishing company behind it: Battleborn represents the combined might of the development and publishing teams behind the success of Borderlands 2, which to date has sold-in more than 9-million units worldwide and has become 2K's highest-selling game of all time. The size, scope, and ambition of Battleborn are unlike any other title in 2K's history, and the result is a defining next-gen co-operative experience.
