Injustice 2 is the latest fighting game from developer NeatherRealm Studios that features the cast of DC’s most popular villains and superheroes. The original gameplay trailer revealed staple characters such as Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but also showed us some lesser-known villains such as Gorilla Grodd. With the latest DC movie Suicide Squad released upon the masses, two of the most prominent members will be making their way to Injustice 2.
In the brief trailer, both Harley Quinn and Deadshot make an appearance and showcase some of their powerful move sets. Harley employs a variety of different, iconic weapons such as her revolver, wooden mallet, and her baseball bat. She also calls upon the help of her pet hyenas Abbott and Costello during her ultimate move. She appears to be a combo character that can focus on juggling her opponents via bombs and her gunshots.
As for a design perspective, Harley is showcased in a variety of outfits that homage her checkered history in DC. There are clearly inspirations from the New 52 design, her classic harlequin outfit, and even some of the retro designs found in the “Bombshell” statue series. If this will change the ascetic of her weapons is still yet to be seen, but NeatherRealm has put a lot of effort into capturing her personality during the fighting.
Deadshot was the second character revealed and he was only shown in one outfit during the trailer. Much like his assassin competitor Deathstroke, Deadshot clearly employees a variety of weapons to keep enemies suppressed from a distance. Since he is known as the best marksmen in the world, his ultimate showcases the man stylishly taking out an opponent with a plethora of firearms. It will be interesting to see how he fairs once an enemy closes the gap and brings the fight up close. There is no word on if any other members of the Suicide Squad will be making an appearance in Injustice 2, but we can only hope for Captain Boomerang to show up.
