If you want to succeed in Prey you will need to get in the habit of checking around the environment for code and clues. More often than not, a lot of these messages will lead to hidden items, emails, or unlock doors so you can progress through Talos I. One such item is the safe in Thorstein’s Office which actually requires a little bit of detective work to solve. To get into his office either hack the door or look for the code on a computer in the room just before the Atrium. A more detailed guide for how to get into his office can be found here, but it shouldn’t take too much trouble regardless.
Once you are inside his office, kill the Phantom that is patrolling the area, and approach the safe on the right side. You will see a note with the safe code on it that reads “Es & Xe” which are symbols on the periodic table of elements. If you know the numbers right off the bat just put them into the safe and it will open, for everyone else there will be a large chart behind you with all the elements.
Go back to the safe behind you and input the code 9954 to unlock it. Inside there will be 2 Psi Hypos, 7 9mm bullets, and 2 Recycler Charges. Maybe next time we shouldn’t sleep through science class so this is easier to figure out.
