Jim Miller vs. Gleison Tibau Slated For UFC on Versus 2

A lightweight match up between 155-pound contenders Jim Miller and Gleison Tibau has been slated for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s second event on the Versus network. According to MMAjunkie.com, one of the fighters has agreed to the bout, which will make the main card of “UFC on Versus 2“.

Miller, who is currently riding a four fight winning streak, gained his most recent win over Mark Bocek at UFC 111 in a match featuring a back and forth grappling match. Victories over Duane Ludwig, Steve Lopez and Mac Danzig round out the New Jersey native’s current run towards a title shot at the 155-pound mark.

Miller’s opponent is also on the rise in the division. Tibau is currently rolling on a two fight winning streak including his “UFC Fight Night 21” technical knockout over Caol Uno and his unanimous decision victory over Josh Neer at UFC 104. Tibau has utilized his wrestling and much-improved ground striking game to work his way up the lightweight ladder.

No fights have been confirmed by the promotion for “UFC on Versus 2”, but the card is rumored to feature a light heavyweight contest between Jon Jones and Vladimir Matyushenko in the evening’s main event. A lightweight match between Joe Stevenson and Takanori Gomi is also slated for the card, which is set for Oakland, California on August 1.
