UFC Prelims Back On Spike TV For UFC 126

The “UFC Prelims” special is set to return to Spike TV for UFC 126 this February.

MMAjunkie.com reported today that sources close to the organization say that the hour-long special will return, featuring the final two match ups on the preliminary card of UFC 126. While the special will happen next month, also according to MMAjunkie.com Spike TV and the UFC have yet to finalize a contract renewal which will extend their deal past 2011.

The first fight to make the broadcast is expected to be a featherweight bout between Chad Mendes and Michihiro Omigawa, while the second features former WEC lightweight top contender Donald Cerrone and slugger Paul Kelly. Both Mendes and Cerrone will be making their UFC debut at the event after successful stints in the WEC.

UFC 126 is set for February 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada and feature 11 fights, including a main event between middleweight champion Anderson Silva and top contender Vitor Belfort. A light heavyweight bout between Forrest Griffin and Rich Franklin will serve as the co-main event of the pay-per-view card.
