UPDATE 4 : According to MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani: Woman involved in the crash suffered a broken arm; Jones’ criminal charges have been upgraded from a misdemeanor to a felony. The ABQ Police are currently working on an arrest warrant for Jones.

UPDATE 3 : From TMZ.com: A man resembling Jon Jones was seen fleeing the scene of an accident and marijuana was found inside the car. Document with Jon Jones’ name were found inside the rental car. Story is still developing.

UPDATE 2 : According to MMA columnist Josh Gross, Jon Jones’ trainer Greg Jackson hasn’t been able to reach him. His current whereabouts are still unknown.

According to sources in the MMA media, Jon Jones has been involved in a serious car accident in New Mexico and his title defense against Anthony Johnson is now in jeopardy. It has been confirmed that on Sunday night Jones was in a crash that involved at least one other vehicle. It has also been confirmed that Jones fled the scene of the accident.

Speculation is arising over whether Jones was under the influence of drugs during the accident and whether or not there were any serious injuries during the accident. Rumors about the accident are indicating that Jon Jones has been scratched from UFC 187 due to either injury or possible legal issues stemming from his possible intoxication during the accident.

FrontRowBrian, an MMA personality that breaks many stories and rumors in the MMA community, was the first to tweet about this accident and also the possibility that Jon Jones had cocaine on him at the scene of the accident.

According to Albuquerque Police, Jones is currently wanted for questioning for the alleged hit and run and has been ruled a suspect.
