Condit Out of UFC 108, Hazlett Steps In

The seemingly-cursed UFC 108 card took another hit this morning. Carlos Condit, who was scheduled to face devastating British striker Paul Daley in the co-main event of the evening, pulled out of his fight citing a hand injury.

All eyes immediately turned to Josh Koscheck, the pinch-hitter of the UFC’s welterweight division and a man who told Heavy.com last month that he wanted to fight twelve times in 2010. Koscheck is already scheduled to fight at UFC 109, so taking a spot at UFC 108 would fit right in with his dream schedule.

The UFC had different plans, however, and tapped submission wizard Dustin Hazelett to face Daley instead. Hazelett was scheduled to face Karo Parisyan at last month’s UFC 106 event in Las Vegas, but was left without an opponent when Parisyan controversially pulled out just two days before the event. The judo expert was quickly fired via Twitter by UFC president Dana White. Hazelett was paid his full show and win bonus despite not being on the card.
