While it’s still a little ways away from actually filming, JoBlo is reporting that Ahnold Schwarznegger is on board for the 5th film in The Terminator series following the sale of the franchise to Annapurna Pictures.
The new producers are hoping to get two films out of the series, Terminator 5 & 6, before the rights revert back to “Mr. Titanic” James Cameron. The new production duo, David and Megan Ellison, have backed such films as Mission:Impossible-Ghost Protocol, Jack Reacher, the upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness, Zero Dark Thirty, Silver Linings Playbook, and The Master.
While it still hasn’t been confirmed, Arnold might be on-board for a 6th film in the franchise. Still no word yet on what actual role he’ll be playing in the films. If you remember in the last film, an Arnold doppelganger arrives in one of the final scenes.
You can see Arnold next in The Last Stand coming to theaters in January.
