The Minnesota Timberwolves will pair the Kentucky big man with last year’s #1 pick, Andrew Wiggins. Towns is expected to provide a defensive presence inside as well as the ability to knock down jumpers on offense. The Timberwolves now possess the last year’s #1 draft picks: Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett.
Towns was widely considered the best prospect in the draft. Although, early on Timberwolves President and Coach appeared to favor Jahlil Okafor it became apparent that Towns was their man. A trio of Karl-Anthony Towns, Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins could be great for years to come.
