Raiders vs. Texans National Anthem & Halftime: Who is Performing?

It’s (playoff) football time in Houston.

For the second consecutive year, the Houston Texans are hosting a playoff game on Wild Card Weekend. Raiders-Texans is the first of four games this weekend, and it’ll feature plenty of entertainment- even when the players are on the sidelines.

Clay Walker is a Texas-born country singer, and he’ll perform the national anthem before kickoff on Saturday. Walker has released 11 albums during his career, and released the above song to fire up his local Texans. Walker sang the anthem at the 2016 Astros home opener, and is playing only a handful of live venues over the next few months. Since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1996, Walker founded the Band Against MS foundation to help others that struggle with the condition.

At halftime, the crowd at NRG Stadium will see a performance from southern rapper B.O.B. This is his biggest performance since his “flat-Earth” episode early in 2016, and he’s hoping to start 2017 on a more positive note. If you dismissed BOB after his scientific rant and haven’t listened to his latest mixtape, go listen to it now.
