Black Lips’ new single from this year’s Arabia Mountain features the Lips as a group of corrupt cops.
Congratulations Black Lips, on making a totally gross video. There’s blood, vomit, feathers…it’s like being at one of their shows. NSFW folks.
This weekend Grant Park will host the 20th anniversary celebration of Lollapalooza in Chicago. Whether or not you are going to make it to the festivities you can still rock out with this mix, kindly presented by Spin. Artists include Black Lips, Lykke Li, Foster The People, Ratatat, Titus Andronicus, Jay Electronica, Beirut and more.
Maybe the fanciest video yet for the Black Lips, from this year’s Mark Ronson produced, Arabia Mountain. As with all the Lips albums, it’s a good time.
Oh Black Lips. Mark Ronson worked his very best magic in the studio to get the most…uh…adult record yet from these guys (and in fact, Arabia Mountain is a great album). But that clearly, in no way affected their charm as individuals.
Chicago duo The Hood Internet like pop, rap, r+b, indie and rock. And they like it all at the same time. Birdman and Washed Out, Jamie Foxx and Röyksopp, Drake and Beach House, you get the idea. Download or stream the mixtape.
This week: Wood’s continue with more lo-fi magic, Brooklyn’s Ford + Lopatin synthesize and stimulate, Battles’ first album without their frontman (still good!), Mark Ronson gets Black Lips polished (for them), Arctic Monkeys continue their journey with a more serious sound.
The second single from their sixth album, Arabia Mountain, which is due out in June and produced by Mark Ronson.
I didn’t know the Black Lips could actually withstand the blinding rays of the sun. From their upcoming release, Arabia Mountain, out on Vice sometime in June, and produced by Mark Ronson.
