This one may get ugly.
The Seattle Seahawks are 0-2, not because of a lack of talent, but because of some fixable mistakes. This week, they get All-Pro safety Kam Chancellor back, and they’ll be at home, where they are practically unbeatable. The Chicago Bears are 0-2, mostly because of a lack of talent. This week, they are without both Jay Cutler and Alshon Jeffery and traveling to a hostile environment against an angry opponent.
CBS Sports’ Will Brinson probably put it best:
As a result, oddsmakers are pegging the ‘Hawks as 15-point favorites with an over/under of 45.
In Seattle’s two losses to St. Louis and Green Bay they are 0-2 against the spread with one hitting over and one under. It’s worth noting, however, that last year, they went 6-2 against the spread at home during the regular season.
The Bears are also 0-2 against the spread this season, while both of their games have hit the under.
Both of those trends should continue. Jimmy Clausen under center plus Seattle’s terrific pass rush plus the crowd noise at CenturyLink is going to equal a lot of problems for the Bears on offense. Matt Forte is really the only way the Bears may be able to efficiently move the ball, but they’ll likely have to abandon the run once Seattle moves ahead. When that happens, it’s difficult to imagine them putting many points on the board.
Prediction: Bears 7, Seahawks 31 (Seahawks SU, Seahawks ATS, Under)
