Another week, another double-digit underdog line for the Baltimore Ravens.
The home team, once nothing short of dominant at M&T Bank Stadium, come into their Sunday afternoon tilt against the Pittsburgh Steelers as 10-point underdogs according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. This is, however, the kind of season the Ravens are having.
Heading into Week 16, Baltimore is a depressing 4-10 SU and 3-9-2 ATS. But wait, there’s more. This season, the Ravens have yet to actually cover the spread at home and they’re 0-9-1 ATS in their last 10 home games.
There’s not much reason to consider a Baltimore upset this Sundya.
Pittsburgh is fresh off a 34-27 comeback victory over the Denver Broncos last week, after Ben Roethlisberger tossed three touchdown passes. The defense is actually starting to look like a Steelers defense as well and for anyone rooting for the black and yellow, that’s a very good sign.
For as bad as Baltimore has been betting-wise, the Steelers have been just as good. Pittsburgh is 6-3 SU in its last nine games on the road and 5-1 SU in its last six games. While the Steelers have won just three of their last 12 on the road against Baltimore, they’ve historically covered the spread, going 5-2 in their last seven.
The total for Sunday afternoon’s AFC North divisional matchup is set at 48.5 points according to the sportsbooks. The total has gone OVER in five of the Steelers last six games, but UNDER in five of the last seven on the road. The total has gone UNDER in four of Baltimore’s last six. Meanwhile, when these two teams play; they score. The total has gone OVER in four of the last six games played in Baltimore.
The OddsShark computer is predicting a 26-24 Baltimore victory.
