Get ready to All-Star in a whole different way.

The NHL All-Star game has gone under another revamp this season and, now, we’ve got ourselves a 3-on-3 tournament to go along with the regular skills competition. Fan-elected captains — Jaromir Jagor and Alex Ovechkin for the Eastern Conference and Patrick Kane and John Scott for the Western Conference — will select the players who will participate in the six All-Star skills events. Each one of the 44 NHL All-Stars will participate in at least one.

So, when do we get underway? We’ve got the schedule complete broken down. Here we go:

Saturday, January 30

7 p.m. ET – Honda NHL All-Star Skills Competition

  • Fasted Skater
Four players from each team will test their speed in a two-skater race. The skater with the fastest time in the head-to-head matchups will skate a full lap in an attempt to break Mike Gartner’s record of 13.386 seconds.
  • Breakaway Challenge
Each team will provide a goalie to participate in the challenge and then each shooter will attempt two shots and it’s time to get creative. Fans at home and in the arena will vote on Twitter and the player with the highest vote will be crowned victor.
  • Shooting Accuracy
Four shooters from each team will participate with two more players serving as passers. The event will be made of four head-to-head matchups and the goal is to hit four 15-inch diameter targets in the corner of the net. The first shooter to hit all four targets win.
  • Skills Challenge Relay
The timed relay, involving 14 skaters and two goalies from each team, will involved four relays with five challenges: one timers, puck control, stick-handling and goalie goals.
  • Hardest Shot
Four shooters from each team will test their slap shot skills.
  • Shootout
Eighteen skaters and three goaltenders from each team will participate in the three-round shootout.

The skills competition will be broadcast on NBC Sports Network and can be streamed online as well.
