Champions League action has finally returned, as the Knockout Stage will see the field trimmed down to just eight clubs. Little has changed since we last convened, as Barcelona are still the Vegas favorite to win it all at the San Siro in May. Barca are currently top of the table in Spain, but as always will face tough opposition from the best clubs in Europe.
PSG have been dominating France, and are an astonishing 24 points ahead of Monaco in Ligue 1. Bayern Munich are eight points clear in the Bundesliga, and are heading towards a fourth consecutive title in Pep Guardiola’s final season in Germany. But the best form might belong to Juventus, who claimed the top spot in Serie A over the weekend and haven’t conceded a goal since January 10th. Juve and Bayern are facing off this round, cutting the dream short for one of Europe’s top clubs.
If you think Juventus have the form to get past Bayern and beyond, they’ve got great odds at Bovada. The online sportsbook has the Italians at +2500 to win Champions League, and that number could shrink drastically if Massimiliano Allegri’s side advance to the quarterfinal.
As it stands, Barcelona are the favorite to repeat as champions. The Catalans are valued at +225, narrowly favored over Bayern Munich at +275. Real Madrid follows at +500, followed by up-and-down Manchester City at +1000. PSG and Atletico Madrid are both solid bets at +1200, with Chelsea and Arsenal longshots at +2000 and +3300 respectively.
