Luis Suarez is set to return for Uruguay tonight, and the timing couldn’t be more perfect. His side are set to take on Brazil in World Cup qualifying, in what is already a huge match between rival countries.
CONMEBOL qualifying may last 18 games, but it has not been a great start for Brazil. Pair that with hot starts from teams like Ecuador and Paraguay, and Brazil are on the outside looking into the 2018 World Cup for the time being.
Suarez will feature for the first time since June 24, 2014, when he appeared to bite Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini. Suarez received a nine-match ban for the offense, which he has been accused of in the past. But if he can lead Uruguay to a victory tonight, the only thing he will be biting is a hamburger. He and Barcelona teammate Neymar, who plays for Brazil, have a friendly burger bet on tonight’s match.
