The Kardashian empire continues to expand. E! Network has ordered another Keeping Up with the Kardashians spinoff series, this one starring Rob Kardashian, the youngest of Kris Jenner and Robert Kardashian’s four children, and his fiance, Blac Chyna (born Angela Renée White).
E! announced on Wednesday the show called Rob & Chyna will premiere later this year with six hour-long episodes followed by a special celebrating the birth of their first child. Kardashian has shied away from the public over the last few years, but has started making more appearances since he started dating Chyna at the beginning of the year.
Here’s what you need to know.
1. ‘Rob & Chyna’ Will ‘Openly Share Their New Life’

Kardashian takes the lead for the first time in a Keeping Up With the Kardashians spinoff series alongside his fiancé. According to E!, the engaged couple “will openly share their new life while setting up their new home and preparing for their first child together.”
The first season will have six hour-long episodes followed by a special celebrating the birth of the newest Kardashian. Jeff Olde, Executive Vice President, Original Programming & Development, E!, said in a statement:
Very few love stories have created as much pop culture buzz as Rob and Chyna’s, and we are thrilled to see Rob in such a happy place. We are excited to share the next chapter in their relationship.
2. Rob’s Mother Kris Jenner Will Serve as an Executive Producer
Kris Jenner adds another executive producer credit to her name with Rob & Chyna. The mother of six has worked hard to help her son overcome a major weight gain and battle with depression. She also assisted him in buying a new house, which caught her some flack from the Kardashian sisters.
The Rob & Chyna production team also includes executive producer Ryan Seacrest for Ryan Seacrest Productions. Gil Goldschein, Jeff Jenkins, Farnaz Farjam and Ailee O’Neill will serve as executive producers for Bunim/Murray Productions. Kardashian and Chyna are co-executive producers.
3. Kardashian Proposed to Chyna in April After 3 Months of Dating
Paying tribute to his Chyna on Mother’s Day, Kardashian wrote on Instagram that he “fell in love with her immediately.” The couple started dating earlier this year and after only three months together, Kardashian popped the big question and Chyna responded, “YES!…!…!” She posted that caption in an Instagram pic showing off her 7-carat diamond ring.
At first, their relationship was met with some derision by Kardashian’s family. Chyna is the ex-girlfriend of Tyga (real name Micheal Ray Stevenson), who dated Kardashian younger half-sister, Kylie Jenner. Chyna and Tyga share a three-year-old son. A source told E! News in January that there was concern she was only using Kardashian to get back at Jenner for dating her baby daddy.
4. The Couple Announced Their Pregnancy With a Pregnant Chyna Emoji
Chyna also took to Instagram again on May 6 to announce her pregnancy with a pregnant self emoji. It will be the first child for together for the couple and Chyna’s second. She has a three-year-old son, King Cairo Stevenson, with her ex, Tyga.
The 28-year-old model was already a couple of months along when she made her announcement in early May, according to TMZ. The outlet also reported that photos of the new parents and their baby could fetch at least a million dollars.
‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Is Currently in its 12th Season
The Kardashian flagship series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, continues to roll in its 12th season. Airing on Sunday nights on E!, this season has shown Khloé Kardashian helping her estranged husband Lamar Odom with his recovery and her older sister Kourtney Kardashian moving on after breaking up with her longtime partner Scott Disick, the father of her three children.
KUWTK premiered in October 2007 and has spawned three spinoff series including Kourtney & Kim Take Miami, Kourtney & Kim Take New York and Khloé & Lamar.
