Tonight is the 2016 CFDA Awards and many fashion enthusiasts were hoping that the awards would be televised. Unfortunately, this is not the case and you’ll just have to wait for the red carpet photos. Every year, this event honors those who have contributed to the fashion industry and community in major ways. The CFDA pays tribute to Womenswear, Menswear, Accessories, Journalism and other creative categories.
This year’s host is Joel McHale, who many know from the show The Soup. In addition to McHale, many other celebrities will be in attendance. Womens Wear Daily reports that the following stars will be presenting: Claire Danes, Alexander Skarsgård, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, Karlie Kloss and Ansel Elgort. Guests are expected to include Jessica Chastain, Lena Dunham, Olivia Wilde, Victor Cruz, Selma Blair, Kirsten Dunst, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Ryan Seacrest, Gia Coppola, Sarah Paulson, Jourdan Dunn, Liya Kebede, Hari Nef, Christina Ricci, Alessandra Ambrosio, Laverne Cox, Zosia Mamet, Michelle Monaghan, Emily Ratajkowski and Hilary Rhoda.

At this year’s event, the board of directors will pay special tribute to David Bowie. According to USA Today, Michael C. Hall will perform the tribute while Jennifer Hudson will close out the show. The Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement award is going to Norma Kamali this year and it will be presented by Michael Kors. Donna Karan will be given the Founder’s Award and presented with the honor by her friend Calvin Klein. Womens Wear Daily also reports that Anna Wintour will introduce Alessandro Michele from Gucci as the recipient of the International Award.
The 2016 CFDA Awards are held at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.
