Larian Studios, the developer behind the highly-acclaimed fantasy RPG Divinity: Original Sin has just announced the Early Access release date for Divinity Original Sin 2, and it’s soon.
Divinity: Original Sin was named Gamespot‘s PC Game of the Year in 2014, so it comes as no surprise that the sequel received over $2 million in funding on Kickstarter and more than doubled the number of backers from the first game. Original Sin was praised for its deep degree of customization, dynamic and challenging turn-based combat, and the ability to interact extensively with the environment.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 will take many features from the original game and improve upon them, as well as adding new features such as improved relationships and something called Strategist mode, which is for die-hards, from die-hards. They are also introducing a new mechanic called skillcrafting, which will allow players to combine different skills and spells to create entirely new ones, as well as a cover system for classes such as rangers and spellcasters, which allows them to shoot from behind things and take less damage
Like the first game, there will be online and local multiplayer, but Original Sin 2 will allow up to four players to play either cooperatively or competitively.
Divinity Original Sin 2 will release to Steam Early Access on September 15th.
