Pitching Probables

The Dodgers have already set their rotation for Games 1-3.

Three-time Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, who has struggled in the postseason, will take the bump in Game 1, followed by Rich Hill, who has been lights out with the Dodgers, and star rookie Kenta Maeda.

For the Nats, Max Scherzer and Tanner Roark, who have combined for 34 wins and both have a sub-3.00 ERA, will likely pitch at home for Games 1 and 2. The Game 3 starter isn’t set in stone, but it figures to be Gio Gonzalez.

“Gio is probably the most capable Game 3 starter for us, off the top of my head right now, but we haven’t made that decision,” said GM Mike Rizzo. “There will be some strategy involved… and who we’re going to do — it depends on where we’re playing, that type of thing, suffice it to say Gio will be one of our starters in the playoffs.”

With Stephen Strasburg unlikely to make his return, the other option would be Joe Ross.
